Why Electrify?

What Does “Electrifying Your Home” Mean?

Electrifying your home simply means running appliances on electricity instead of gas. Same comforts. Latest technology.

Common Upgrades to Electrify Your Home

Most homes already use electricity — electrification just means using it for everything.

Gas heating → Reverse-cycle air conditioning

Replace gas heaters with a reverse-cycle air conditioning system. Reverse-cycle units provide both heating and cooling and can be significantly more energy-efficient than traditional gas heating.

Gas hot water → Electric storage or Heat pump

Switch from a gas hot water system to an electric storage (with timer) or a heat pump. Heat pumps are highly efficient and use renewable heat energy to heat water while reducing energy consumption and emissions. Electric water heaters are a great thermal battery when paired with a timer and solar sponge tariffs.

Gas cooktop → Induction cooktop

Upgrade from a gas cooktop to an induction cooktop. Induction cooking uses electricity to heat cookware directly, offering faster heating, improved safety, and better energy efficiency.

Petrol car → Electric vehicle

Transition from a petrol vehicle to an electric vehicle (EV). EVs produce zero tailpipe emissions and can significantly reduce running costs. They make even more sense when charging is handled by renewable electricity.

You Don’t Have to Do It All at Once

Most Australian households electrify gradually, replacing appliances when they reach the end of their life.

There’s no need for a big renovation or upfront overhaul.

One upgrade at a time is enough.
